We rarely notice

The dance of an individual leaf

Caught in the kiss of a gentle breeze.

It’s so beautiful how it flexes with surrendered grace

Catching the warm rays of the sun’s glance

Beauty in motion.

They have no choice, attached to their lifeline, their root

No audible complaint is heard by the human ear

Yet, do they scream to be freed or know that is the end?

Thus they cling with all their might through storm and calm

Until that final day when the tree undresses

Dropping to the dirt this year’s wardrobe

A separation forever

A cycle complete.

Such a short intense life

A life full of giving

Unrecognized year after year.

Dear dancing leaf

I thank you for your beauty

I thank you for the cleaner air I breathe

I thank you for your shade and protection from the rain

I thank you for your sacrifice as you create organic matter on the earth I walk

I thank you for our short time together

May your last days be full of joyful grace

I will miss you….

Impermanence…

It’s a guarantee

Already this moment has changed

The bird song, the toad croak, gone.

The last little bits of water drip, vacating the leaf it landed upon

The moment of moisture disappears

Soon the heat of the day will suck up what’s left

The years behind me are like that water drop

Falling into the well of my life drop by drop, climbing the well of my existence

Each moment, each day marking itself in the pool

Clear water, muddy water, blood and sweat

A witches brew of my life thus lived

It is beautiful to watch the dancing images upon the glass like surface

A movie screen of past moments

Today I shall drip more into my well of life, adding to the blend

The day will come when the drops will stop

Then the cycle shall complete itself with the evaporation of my life well

Gone forever

Impermanence…

It is a truth

A given

A definition of life…

That’s all it takes

One little mind set shift

Poof the “tude” goes away.

Why do we choose to stay stuck?

Why don’t we tweek just a bit to find joy?

Control, haha… the joke on the human race is

the only thing we get to control is our mood

Yep ~ that’s it!

Think about it,

How we choose to react is what we get to control – period.

Reaction to an earthquake, death, birth, sleeplessness, pleasure…

You name it, we choose.

Can you control the weather?

Your boss’s behavior, the gas prices, your lover’s reaction???

No….

But you can control how you react in those situations

What do you want to feel?

Impermanence is a guarantee

So why suffer

When

One little tweek

One little mind shift

One little heart swing

One little soul nudge

Where do we all really sit?

Vibrational energies scattered across a wire

Sitting ducks for our own denials and limiting beliefs.

Once released the gates open and the blinders fall off

A new potential grows within

The horizons expand to welcome the new explorer

The soul who chose self

Whispered invitations float on the wings of passing birds

Beckoning echoes up from the tapestry below

A patchwork quilt of forest, meadow, water and city scapes

Can you hear it?

Time…

Elusive and quiet

Yet poignantly consistent

It ticks past with no concern

It tocks while your head is turned

In a blink you realize your children are grown

You are no longer a child

And the gray hair is real…

At other moments it excruciatingly lingers

Mocking the pain, loss and hurt

A jester with the full deck of cards…

How we dance with time is the trick

Can we surreneder

Let go of our addiction to its control???

In the free fall space between

A sweet suspension offers itself

Here I hold my breath

Will it see me?

Will it hear me?

Will it smell me?

Or can I go unnoticed, quietly stealing an extra tick tock…

A precious moment to linger in the arms of a lover

To gaze into the smiling face of a child

To joyfully listen to the sound of laughter

The call of a whippoorwill

To soak in the setting sun and rising moon

To just BE…

Those moments are rare

They taunt me with a closed door invitation

Maybe if I hold my breath longer, exhale slower

They will not disappear…

If I manage to wrangle time

It may ruin everything

For then flow would cease to exist

Setting into motion a stagnation I do not want

Okay, I hear you time

I acquiesce

You have your role as do I

I am learning how to honor, respect and play with you in a new light

The hour glass of life is what makes it such a grand adventure

I am ALL IN!

Next to the pulse of your wild heart

Calm & Intense

Simple & Complicated

A paradoxical call that passionately invites while soothing the outside chaos
